The Utican seeks to express a common, nuetral viewpoint about our city which eschews extreme opinions and uniformed biased assertions. With its partnership with translpanted Uticans living in New York City we wish to create a forum where topics about the city of Utica can be expressed and discussed in an auspcious, objective fashion. We do not aspire to change minds or motivate change for Utica and its surrounding suburbs, but rather we hope to foster an online experience where all are free to voice their point of view in the form of unedited comments. Topics will range from (but are not limited to) an awareness of current events, trends and other phenomenon that take place in and around the Utica area and how they make an impact on the overall perception of our community. We hope this blog is a success and we encourage all people to participate.

The Rozz don’t like Utica. And he don’t like you either Mr. Jerome.
The problem with Utica is that it is a city that is completely up its ass with its own importance. A lot of people there have an attachment to their city that is baffling in the eyes of any rational person. The irony of this attachment is evident by the fact that Utica is a dying city with a shrinking population. There are no jobs and everbody is either a refugee or on wellfare or gets SSI. I heard they are going to build a big power line right through the heart of the city. The last time I drove through Utica all I saw was a bunch of vacant buildings with boarded up windows (I heard it has the highest arson rate in the country and is run by corrupt Italians and Russians). If I were you I would forget about that city and try to erase it from your memory. New York City has a lot more going for it than Utica ever will so why don’t you write a blog about that.
