Mr X, Proud Utican (the brains behind The Utican and a rudely conservative Italian)
Hello! I’m a third generation Utican and proud of it. A lot of people trash this city either verbally or physically, but at least I’m doing my part to make my community a decent place to live. I’ve seen people move to Utica from other parts of the United States (and the world) with the intention of laying down some roots here only to be turned off by what they find. I think that is a shame. Utica – and all of Oneida County – has a lot to offer. One does not have to turn many stones to find the gems of this area, and if one can overlook some of the glaring problems like unemployment and poverty, they will find that Utica is a great place to work, live and play. We host The Boilermaker Roadrace (the largest 5K roadrace in the country) and we are home to The Long Distance Running Hall of Fame. We also have more than 5 colleges (including Hamilton College in nearby Clinton, NY) and we are only an hour’s drive from The Baseball Hall of Fame located in Cooperstown, NY. Utica has a diverse population due to the influx of refugees and immigrants from all over the world who settle here. People from every continent make up the divrese population of thu city. It is like a microcosm of the whole planet, a little melting pot. Unlike many other “desirable” locations, Utica is very affordable and won’t hurt your pocket book. You don’t have to lay down a quarter-of-a-million dollars for a house in his city. You don’t have to a spend two hours a day stuck in traffic either. Check out Utica and you are checking out one of the best places to live on the planet!
If you diss my city, I’ll break your legs. Nah – just kidding.
We also have bukkake. A city’s not a city unless it has lots and lots of bukkake.
That’s bu as in boo too.
