When Utica’s economy was reeling during the 1980’s (thank god I didn’t live here then) many people assumed the one-two punch was coming. People thought Utica would soon be fenced off and permenantly closed for business. A bumper sticker which captured that zeitgeist read, ”Will The Last One To Leave Utica Please Turn Out The Lights.”
